Initiative Highlight: Suitcases for Foster Youth Drive – December 2025
A Meaningful Effort to Support Foster Youth

In December 2025, Cassidy Grayson, Alaina Wingfield, Amira Marshall, and Danielle Grayson successfully organized and launched the first Suitcases/Backpacks for Foster Youth Initiative. This meaningful effort was created to support foster youth transitioning between homes and placements with dignity, stability, and compassion.
The initiative focused on providing foster youth with new and gently used suitcases and backpacks so they could safely carry and keep their personal belongings together. Far too often, youth entering or moving through foster care are forced to transport their belongings in trash bags, which can negatively impact their self-esteem and emotional well-being. Through this initiative, the team sought to restore a sense of pride, value, and respect for each young person served.
The community responded with overwhelming support, resulting in a successful collection of new and gently used suitcases and backpacks. Donations from community members, supporters, and partners helped ensure that foster youth had access to appropriate luggage and storage for their personal items during times of transition.
This initiative not only met a practical need, but also demonstrated the power of community collaboration and advocacy for vulnerable youth. The success of the program highlighted the organization’s commitment to promoting dignity, empowerment, and emotional support for foster youth throughout their journey.
